Buick Wildcat Design Study Outshines Concept
【Summary】Buick shares behind-the-scenes look at the design process of the Buick Wildcat, showing how it influenced the design of the new 2024 Envista. Buick is transitioning to electric crossovers and has a new logo. Interestingly, the animated concept looks more production-ready and attractive than the final product.
The General Motors Design studio recently provided a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the initial version of the modern Buick Wildcat. This concept car made its debut just over a year ago and was designed to showcase Buick's future design direction. Interestingly, elements of this design can already be seen in newer models such as the 2024 Envista.
In addition to showcasing the Wildcat EV Concept, Buick also uses the video introduction to symbolically announce its departure from traditional sedans like the LaCrosse and Regal. Instead, the brand is embracing a new era of electrified crossovers. To emphasize this shift, Buick has even unveiled a brand new logo.
Curiously, the animated car used in the video, which was created to convince Buick's management to pursue the concept, appears to be more production-ready than the final version. In fact, many observers find the animated car to be more visually appealing than the somewhat radical concept that was ultimately produced.
