Buick Wildcat Design Study Outshines Concept
【Summary】The Buick Wildcat Design Study is revealed to look better than the actual concept, as shown in a behind-the-scenes video. Buick is shifting towards electrified crossovers and has a new logo to reflect this change. The animated car used to convince management looks more production-ready and attractive compared to the radical concept.
The General Motors Design studio recently provided a glimpse into the creation of the first version of the modern Buick Wildcat. This concept car, which debuted just over a year ago, was designed to showcase Buick's future design direction. Elements of this design can already be seen in newer models such as the 2024 Envista.
In addition to revealing the Wildcat EV Concept, Buick also used the video introduction to symbolize its shift away from traditional sedans like the LaCrosse and Regal. Instead, Buick is embracing the world of electrified crossovers. To emphasize this transition, Buick has even introduced a brand new logo.
Interestingly, the animated car featured in the video, which was used to convince Buick's management to pursue the concept, appears to be more production-ready than the final product. In fact, many would argue that the animated car is more aesthetically pleasing than the somewhat radical concept that Buick ultimately released.
