Cadillac's Sneak Peek at Two Upcoming EVs in China

Cadillac is gearing up to launch a range of electric vehicles in China, and the company has provided a glimpse of two upcoming crossovers. Last week, Cadillac unveiled the 2025 Optiq as their entry-level electric crossover, but it may not hold that position for long. At the Guangzhou Auto Show, the automaker teased two new models.

While Cadillac did not provide many details, the General Director of Cadillac Sales and Marketing at SAIC-GM emphasized the importance of China as the world's largest EV market. Tim Heile stated that Cadillac will introduce more new EVs in China by the end of next year, along with a refreshed lineup of internal combustion engine vehicles.

The teaser image reveals some clues about the upcoming crossovers. The one in the middle appears to be similar in size to the Optiq but features a flatter roof, shorter hood, and a less upright front end. The other crossover on the far right is noticeably smaller and taller, with a pronounced shoulder line and shared design elements with the previously mentioned model.

However, it should be noted that the caption of the picture states it is "for reference only," suggesting that the production models may differ. Nevertheless, it seems that Cadillac is preparing a range of small EVs specifically for the Chinese market.

It remains uncertain if these mystery models will be offered in America. However, spy photographers have captured images of a three-row Cadillac EV, expected to be the successor to the XT6. This model is anticipated to fit between the Lyriq and Escalade IQ, but details about it are scarce at this point.

There is a possibility that more information about the upcoming models will be revealed soon. Cadillac officials have previously announced plans to introduce three new EVs this year, with the Optiq and Escalade IQ already making their debuts. This leaves one more model to be unveiled later in the year.
