An employee at a car dealership in Scotland has confessed to stealing over £12,000 from his workplace. Gordon Thomson, aged 54, carried out the embezzlement at the Lloyd Land Rover showroom in Kelso between April and May 2019, as reported on the Planet Radio website. Court documents revealed that Thomson held a position of trust at the dealership in the Scottish Borders.
During a hearing at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, Thomson, who resides in East Lothian, admitted to embezzling a total of £12,350 from the dealership, which is part of the Car Dealer Top 100 group Lloyd Motors. In order to allow Thomson the opportunity to repay the stolen funds, Sheriff Peter Paterson postponed his sentencing for six months. The money was taken in various amounts.
Thomson is scheduled to appear in court again on February 26. However, the sheriff cautioned him that he will still face consequences upon his return.
