【Summary】Chinese manufacturer JAC Motors has developed a prototype of an all-electric truck that bears a striking resemblance to Tesla's Semi. The JAC prototype features a similar cab shape, large windshield, and headlights positioned in the same spot as the Tesla Semi. It also has a centrally-mounted seat and two large screens on either side of the steering wheel, similar to the Tesla. China JAC's Rivalry with Tesla Continues

The all-electric Tesla Semi has garnered significant attention in the heavy transportation industry, and it seems that a Chinese manufacturer has taken notice. Recent photos of a truck prototype, believed to be developed by JAC Motors, reveal striking similarities to the Tesla Semi.

The images were reportedly taken at a JAC Motors facility, a company known for producing passenger cars and operating a joint venture with Volkswagen. The prototype's overall cab shape closely resembles that of the Tesla Semi, with similar dimensions and a large windshield that seamlessly extends across the A-pillars to the side windows.

Although the camouflage on the prototype makes the A-pillars more noticeable, they would be less conspicuous if finished in black, mirroring the design of the Tesla Semi. Additionally, the headlights of the JAC prototype are positioned in nearly the same location as those on the Tesla, just ahead of the front wheel arches.

One distinguishing feature of the JAC prototype is a window or possible solar panel located above the windshield, which is absent in the electric Semi. The prototype also features digital wing mirrors, while the production version of the Tesla Semi currently utilizes traditional mirrors (although the initial concept did include digital mirrors).

Turning attention to the cabin, a single interior image shared by Inside EVs reveals a centrally-mounted seat, a feature also present in the Tesla Semi. The cabin also appears to have two large screens on either side of the steering wheel, mirroring the layout of the Tesla's interior.
