Chinese electric-car start-up Xpeng is set to make waves in the automotive industry with its latest concept vehicle. The company has unveiled a six-wheel SUV, reminiscent of Tesla's Cybertruck, that has the unique capability of launching a small aircraft from its rear compartment. Known as the 'Land Aircraft Carrier', this vehicle is designed to be used by emergency service providers in challenging terrains, such as mountain rescues.
The Land Aircraft Carrier bears a striking resemblance to the Cybertruck, with its flat sides, angular panels, and unpainted steel finish. However, unlike Tesla's electric pick-up, Xpeng's SUV is a hybrid, meaning it relies on a petrol engine for operation in hazardous conditions. The rear hatch of the vehicle opens up to reveal a storage area for a helicopter-style 'flying car', which can also be deployed from the cargo space.
At present, the Land Aircraft Carrier is just a concept, but there is potential for it to become part of Xpeng's growing lineup of vehicles available in China. The company already has four other electric cars in development, and it recently signed a partnership with Volkswagen to co-develop models specifically for the Chinese market.
Xpeng's innovative concept vehicle showcases the company's commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring new possibilities in the electric car industry. With its unique design and multifunctional capabilities, the Land Aircraft Carrier could revolutionize emergency response operations in challenging terrains.
