The LF-ZC's expected arrival in 2026 indicates that it will be equipped with Toyota's next-generation liquid-electrolyte batteries, which will provide a range of up to 500 miles. These batteries are not only lighter but also expected to be 20% cheaper to produce compared to the batteries used in the Toyota bZ4X. This makes them an ideal choice for the FT-Se, a small sports car where reducing weight is a top priority.

There are several indications that the FT-Se is likely to go into production. Toyota CEO Koji Sato has expressed his desire to expand the company's lineup of GR-badged sports cars, which already includes models like the GR86 and GR Supra. He mentioned that the Gazoo brand will play a significant role in the future, possibly hinting at an accelerated development process.

Among the various new Toyota concepts, including the FT-3e and Land Cruiser Se, the FT-Se appears to be the closest to being production-ready. Its exterior design looks well-refined, and although some changes may be made to the cabin for production, it is hard to imagine that the car wouldn't generate interest if it were to be displayed in showrooms exactly as it is now.
