Control your Tesla car using Apple Shortcuts
【Summary】Tesla has introduced support for Apple Shortcuts in its latest iOS app update. This allows Tesla owners to control various functions of their vehicles using shortcuts and Siri. Users can set up shortcuts for actions like locking and unlocking the car, starting preconditioning, and more. The feature also allows for chaining multiple actions into one shortcut, creating more complex commands. To access this functionality, users need to update their Tesla app to the latest version.
Apple Shortcuts have just become even more convenient for Tesla owners with the latest version (4.24.0) of the Tesla mobile app for iOS. Now, Tesla users can access Shortcuts directly from their mobile devices, saving them time and allowing for more interaction with Siri, Apple's digital assistant.
Shortcuts is a free app that comes pre-installed on iPhones and iPads, offering users the ability to set up time-saving settings for various actions. With Shortcuts, users can create personalized shortcuts or choose from the 15 pre-set options available for Tesla vehicles. These shortcuts include locking and unlocking the vehicle, starting the car's preconditioning, enabling or disabling Sentry and Dog mode, and even opening and closing the charging port, boot, and bonnet.
Once a shortcut is set up, users can easily access it by talking to Siri or adding it to their Home Screen for quick and convenient access. The flexibility of Shortcuts allows users to chain multiple actions into one shortcut, creating more complex commands for their Tesla. For example, users can create a shortcut that locks the car, closes all windows, and enables Sentry mode with just one tap.
For those who want even more automation, the Shortcuts app offers the ability to create Automations. These Automations allow users to run shortcuts based on specific conditions, such as arriving at a certain location or at a specific time of day.
To take advantage of this new functionality, Tesla owners simply need to update their Tesla app on iOS to the latest version. With this update, Tesla owners can spend less time in their cars and more time interacting with Siri and enjoying the convenience of Apple Shortcuts.
