【Summary】The Lámpago e-trike is a stylish electric scooter designed for mobility rather than speed. It has a top speed of 28 mph and can be operated with just an AM license. Cool Electric Trike

Electric trikes have never been considered the epitome of coolness, but the Lámpago e-trike is changing that perception. The Turkish manufacturer, whose name means "Lightning" in Spanish, has created a trike with a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), which is quite impressive.

However, delta trikes, which have two wheels in the rear, are not known for their stability in turns. Therefore, it makes sense for the Lámpago to have a lower top speed to ensure safety.

Adding a rear seat for a passenger would only worsen the situation in hairpin turns, as it increases the center of gravity. Nevertheless, the Lámpago is being marketed as a mobility device rather than a thrilling ride. In fact, it doesn't require a motorcycle license in the European market it is intended for. Riders can operate it with just an AM license, which is meant for two-wheelers and three-wheelers with engines of 50cc or smaller.

The design of the Lámpago is undeniably eye-catching, with its small left-side door, Vespa-inspired styling, Chesterfield leather chair upholstery, and vintage two-tone color scheme. The addition of a rear storage bag and spare wheel cover adds even more charming vintage accents to this little electric scooter.

However, the Lámpago's drivetrain is rather underpowered. It has a 60V and 30Ah Li-ion battery pack, providing only 1.8 kWh of battery capacity, which is about half of what a typical urban electric scooter offers. The tiny 1,000W electric motor also lacks power compared to many electric bicycles, resulting in less-than-desirable acceleration and hill climbing capabilities.

Given its lower power design, the Lámpago seems to be positioned more as a replacement for e-bikes or e-scooters. However, for those who want to stylishly navigate their city and have a spare seat to bring along their significant other, the Lámpago promises to be a fun and enjoyable ride.
