Electric trikes have never been considered particularly cool, but that perception might change with the introduction of the Lámpago e-trike. Despite its name, which means "lightning" in Spanish, the trike only has a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), as pointed out by RideApart.

Delta trikes, which have two wheels in the rear, are not known for their stability in turns. Therefore, a lower top speed is probably a good idea. Adding a rear seat for a passenger would only worsen the situation, as it would increase the center of gravity.

However, the Lámpago is not being marketed as a thrill ride. Instead, it is positioned as a mobility device. In fact, it does not even require a motorcycle license in the European market. Riders can operate the Lámpago with just an AM license, which is meant for two-wheelers and three-wheelers with engines of 50cc or smaller.

The design of the Lámpago is quite eye-catching. From the small left-side door to the Vespa-inspired styling, the Chesterfield leather chair upholstery, and the vintage two-tone color scheme, it exudes charm. The addition of a rear storage bag and spare wheel cover further enhances its vintage appeal.

Despite its charming design, the Lámpago's drivetrain is underpowered. It is equipped with a 60V and 30Ah Li-ion battery pack, providing just 1.8 kWh of battery capacity. This is about half of what a typical urban electric scooter offers. The tiny 1,000W electric motor also lacks power compared to many electric bicycles, which may result in less-than-desirable acceleration and hill climbing capabilities.

Given its lower power design, the Lámpago seems to be positioned more as a replacement for e-bikes or e-scooters. However, for those who want to get around their city in style and enjoy the option of bringing a passenger along for the ride, the Lámpago could still provide a lot of fun.
