Cybertruck disguise fails to deceive

【Summary】Tesla's upcoming Cybertruck has been spotted in disguise, first as a Ford F-150 and now as a Toyota Tundra. It is unclear why Tesla is attempting to disguise the vehicle, but it could be to pass unnoticed until its official launch or to test wraps for customization options. Another possibility is that it is a joke intended to mock rivals' ordinary designs. The attempts at disguise have not fooled anyone, as the Cybertruck's unique shape is still apparent.

Cybertruck disguise fails to deceive

Tesla is set to unveil its highly anticipated Cybertruck electric pickup in September. However, the futuristic vehicle has already been spotted in public, despite attempts to disguise it.

Earlier this month, a broken-down Cybertruck was seen poorly hidden under a Ford F-150 wrap. Now, the Cybertruck has been sighted disguised as a Toyota Tundra. So what's the reason behind these disguises?

Footage of the Cybertruck in a camouflage wrap had previously been seen. It seems that Tesla has now opted to disguise the pickup as other vehicles, although nobody is fooled by the attempts.

First, the broken-down Cybertruck was spotted disguised as an F-150, and now videos have emerged showing the vehicle impersonating a Toyota Tundra, one of the best-selling pickups in the US.

There are speculations about the purpose behind these disguises. One possibility is that Tesla wants to keep the Cybertruck unnoticed in the wild until its official launch. However, the wraps do little to hide the Cybertruck's unique and unconventional shape.

Another possibility is that Tesla is testing wraps with the intention of offering them in the market. The Cybertruck will only be available with its original stainless steel finish, so wraps would be the only way to customize it. While third parties are likely to offer wrap products, Tesla might also consider offering its own.

Alternatively, this could simply be a joke intended to troll Tesla's rivals, which aligns with Elon Musk's sense of humor. Musk has criticized other pickup designs as "boring" and has been inspired to create the Cybertruck with its science-fiction influences. Wrapping the Cybertruck to resemble other vehicles could be a way of highlighting the ordinary and commonplace nature of its competitors.
