Electric FJ Cruiser Successor Teased by Toyota

Home > Industry Analysis > Content

【Summary】Toyota has potentially teased an electric successor to the FJ Cruiser, which appears to be larger than the Compact Cruiser concept and could rival the Rivian R2. There is also speculation that the teased vehicle could be the bZ5X, a three-row electric SUV, although there are some inconsistencies with the original concept. More information from Toyota is expected soon.

Electric FJ Cruiser Successor Teased by Toyota

Contrary to the image shown, it should be noted that the car depicted is not the Compact Cruiser concept. Although the design of the car in the image was impressive, the original concept was actually smaller and intended for the compact SUV market. This new SUV, however, appears to be around 20% to 30% larger, potentially positioning it as a competitor to the upcoming Rivian R2.

Turning our attention to the other vehicle hidden in the shadows, it bears a striking resemblance to the bZ5X, a three-row electric SUV. Toyota has previously confirmed their plans to produce a new three-row electric SUV in the United States, and the image suggests that this teased vehicle has the necessary length for such a model. The only aspect that contradicts this theory is that the vehicle was teased during an international presentation, rather than an American one. Additionally, the area behind the C-pillar does not align with the original concept. We will need to wait for further information from Toyota, but it is likely that we won't have to wait for long.
