Honda, under its brand Acura, has provided a closer look at the upcoming electric successor to the NSX supercar. In a series of new images, Acura has hinted at a new design language for this concept car, giving us a glimpse of what to expect when the road car version eventually debuts.

While not much technical information has been disclosed about the model, we do know that it will be one of two electric sports cars currently in development by the Japanese automaker.

The previous generation of the NSX, Honda's flagship vehicle, was one of the first mid-engined supercars to embrace hybrid power. With its turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain, it produced over 570bhp. It is anticipated that this level of technical innovation will continue with the third generation of Honda's supercar.

During a video presentation outlining significant investments in electric car projects, Honda's President Toshihiro Mibe confirmed plans for a successor to the NSX. The company is also collaborating with General Motors on electric vehicles for the American market.

Mibe stated, "We are considering the launch of two sports models globally - a speciality model and a flagship model that embody Honda's universal sporting mindset and distinct characteristics. We are committed to developing these models to meet expectations."
