Evoke reveals groundbreaking long distance electric bike

Electric motorcycles have always lagged behind their internal combustion engine counterparts when it comes to range, but that is about to change with the introduction of the 2024 Evoke 6061-GT electric motorcycle. Evoke Motorcycles, known for their urban-oriented naked bikes, has made a name for themselves in the cruiser market with their innovative frame design.

The original 6061 model, launched in 2020, featured a twin-plate aluminum exo-frame that not only looked unique but also offered a relaxed cruiser frame, unlike the typical seating position found in most electric roadsters and sportbikes. Now, the 2024 version is set to make its debut in North America with several updates, including a massive battery pack for impressive long-range touring.

The new 2024 Evoke 6061-GT boasts a 30 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 660 km (410 miles) per charge. This range is calculated based on urban riding conditions, with an average speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). It surpasses the range of many other electric motorcycles currently available.

In mixed riding conditions, the range is listed as 497 km (308 miles), while at highway speeds, it is said to be 335 km (205 miles). The motor is no slouch either, with 90 kW (120 hp) of power and 206 Nm (152 lb-ft) of torque, allowing the bike to reach a top speed of 230 km/h (140 mph).

The 2024 6061-GT also features updated exterior fairings, a lighter and more energy-dense axial flux motor, and wider tires. It is equipped with a fast charging system that can recharge the battery to 80% in just 30 minutes from a DC fast charging station.

CEO of Evoke Motorcycles, Nathan Siy, expressed excitement about the new model, stating that it is a game-changer for the electric motorcycle market. The 6061-GT is designed to cater to long-range riders who enjoy motorcycle touring, offering an exhilarating riding experience, impressive range, and ample power.

Customers in the US and Canada can already place orders for the Evoke 6061-GT, with shipping expected to begin in April 2024. The price is set at US $24,995, putting it in line with other long-range electric motorcycles on the market. European orders will also be available in selected regions starting early 2024.

Not long after unveiling the 6061-GT, Evoke showcased a new electric dirt bike, showcasing their commitment to expanding their electric motorcycle lineup.
