Exposed suspension system in spy shots

A Tesla Cybertruck release candidate was recently spotted by the roadside in California, where it had apparently broken down. An opportunistic motorist took advantage of the situation and managed to capture some spy shots of the Cybertruck, including images of its suspension.

Photos of the abandoned Cybertruck have since been shared online. The vehicle, which was covered with a reflective sheet, had clearly experienced engine problems and was left at the roadside near Los Altos Hills in California. According to reports, a Tesla engineer attempted to fix the issue but was unsuccessful, resulting in the vehicle being left behind in the dirt.

The images of the Cybertruck reveal a familiar camouflage pattern, suggesting that it could be a release candidate or even a prototype that has undergone terrain testing in other parts of the world. Some shots of the vehicle's underside also show a grouping of holes that could potentially be used for a truck reversing speaker.

Further information about the Cybertruck's suspension was obtained from a former suspension engineer. The expert described the rear lower A-arm as being made of two pieces of welded steel, different from the casting at the front. Additionally, there appears to be an actuator that allows for dynamic damping modification. Overall, comments about the Cybertruck's suspension have been positive, with many considering it to be a simple yet robust system, although it is noted that it could still be a prototype.
