Ford MD Lisa Brankin appointed as UK chair

Ford of Britain & Ireland managing director Lisa Brankin has been appointed as the new chair of Ford's UK operations. This change is effective immediately and follows the promotion of Tim Slatter to a global US-based Ford role. In her new position, Brankin will oversee all facilities and investment in the UK, while also continuing to run the Ford of Britain & Ireland sales and service company.

Brankin has been with Ford since 1990, starting as a graduate trainee. She has held various director positions in the UK, including leading the Passenger Vehicle, Sales, and Marketing areas. Since November 2020, she has been serving as the managing director of the Ford of Britain & Ireland sales company.

Brankin expressed her excitement about the opportunity to further develop and promote Ford's UK talent and industrial footprint. She aims to attract more investment and drive growth for the company, its employees, and dealers. Brankin will continue to be based at Ford's Dunton Campus, which is the global base of the Transit brand and the European lead location for the Ford Pro commercial vehicle business unit.

In recent news, Ford has announced the upcoming launch of several electric vehicles. Last year, they introduced the E-Transit, and now they have announced the medium E-Transit Custom and compact E-Transit Courier, which will also be available as people-carrying Tourneo versions. Additionally, Ford is planning to release the new Ford Kuga plug-in electric vehicle next year, followed by the Ford Explorer and Ford Puma electric vehicles. They are also working on a medium sport crossover.
