In recent years, Ford has been known for producing family cars with impressive driving capabilities. However, the Mondeo Mk4 fell short in terms of build quality, ride, and handling compared to its predecessors. Despite this, there are still plenty of reasons to consider buying a Mondeo, such as its spacious cabin, large boot capacity, generous equipment levels, and affordable pricing. While many Mondeos were used as company cars and may not have been well-maintained, diligent checks can help you find a desirable used example of this family car.

It has been 30 years since the Ford Mondeo first arrived in UK showrooms. Although it was once one of the most popular cars on the roads, the final example was manufactured in 2022, as changing tastes and brand snobbery led to a decline in its popularity. The first-generation Mondeo played a significant role in changing people's perceptions of Ford, impressing buyers and reviewers alike with its dynamic abilities, practicality, and value. While these cars can still be a good option if priced appropriately, keep in mind that electronic issues and worn interior trim may require costly repairs. Finally, the ambience of the Mondeo's interior will differ depending on the trim level, with entry-level models offering comfort, Vignale editions providing luxury, and Titanium editions being well-appointed.
