In the cabin of the Toyota Corolla Commercial, there are numerous cubbyholes that provide ample space for storing items and preventing them from rattling about or being left on display. The centre slot alone offers enough room for your phone, wallet, and keys. Additionally, the heated seat switches are conveniently located just ahead of the gear selector on the centre console, allowing you to slyly turn on your passenger's seat if you're feeling mischievous.

Our electrified Corolla is a noisy machine - 2 August

The electric motors in my hybrid van produce unusual and distinct sounds. They clunk and groan in a way that I've never experienced before, occasionally ticking like a hidden time bomb. Interestingly, the noise emitted by the car at low speeds is actually louder than that from the four-cylinder petrol engine, due to pedestrian safety regulations.

Lights that alert you to potential danger can sometimes be literally a lifesaver - 26 July

One common complaint about modern cars is the excessive warning system that can be frustrating to turn off. However, in the Toyota Corolla, most of these warning systems are practical and make sense. The base price of £29,440 includes features such as lane keeping assistance, active cruise control, emergency steering assistance, and collision avoidance, all of which are enabled by a hidden radar system behind the front grille. The best part is that these systems actually work and are not overly intrusive.

The active cruise control in the Corolla is particularly impressive. Although it may be initially challenging to activate, once engaged, it takes control of the accelerator, brakes, and steering, providing a smooth and confident driving experience, especially in slow-moving traffic. It effectively communicates to the driver that they should trust the system and refrain from interfering.
