Ghostly Hearse: A Rolls-Royce-based Specter

If you're looking to ride in style even in the afterlife, Italian company Biemme Special Cars has transformed the Rolls-Royce Ghost into an incredibly luxurious hearse. Retaining the sedan's iconic rear-hinged doors and lavish interior, Biemme has added a spacious compartment for the coffin.

Creating an elegant-looking hearse is no easy task, but the Ghost-based model, known as the Ghoster, boasts a sleek and stylish design. From the front bumper to the upper part of the windshield, it closely resembles the regular-production Ghost. However, it features a distinctive upward-sloping roof panel painted in the same color as the hood, large side windows with a bright frame, and an impressively long wheelbase. Biemme achieved this by expanding the Ghost's body using a tubular structure covered with steel panels.

The passenger compartment of the Ghoster is similar to the standard Ghost, offering a luxurious experience that can be customized according to personal preferences. With standard wood interior trim, leather upholstery, and other opulent features, Biemme also offers a 1,300-watt sound system as an option. Additionally, the list of available options includes a built-in drink cooler, Starlight headliner, internet connectivity, and LED interior lighting. For added privacy, rear doors with curtains can be ordered.

Biemme has ensured the separation of the passenger and coffin compartments with a shatter-proof divider. They have also added a power-operated platform and LED lighting to the coffin compartment. The same high-quality wood trim and leather upholstery found in the passenger compartment provide a finishing touch to the hearse's design.

There are no specific mechanical modifications made for the hearse conversion. The Ghoster is powered by a 6.7-liter V12 engine, twin-turbocharged to produce an impressive 563 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Despite the additional weight from the hearse conversion, the Ghoster should still offer decent acceleration.

Pricing for the Ghoster has not yet been announced by Biemme. To provide context, the standard Rolls-Royce Ghost starts at approximately $350,000.
