Hyundai Elantra N's Global Launch

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N has been launched globally, featuring a significant design update and a new 2.0-litre GDi engine designed specifically for the N range.

Hyundai celebrated the eighth anniversary of its 'N' brand by unveiling the new Elantra N worldwide. In South Korea, it will be sold as the Avante N, while in Australia, it will be known as the i30 Sedan N. To showcase the performance of the Elantra N, Hyundai released a film featuring actual vehicles owned by N enthusiasts.

The updated Elantra N boasts several design enhancements, including a wider front, an updated grille with the 'N' badge, side sills, a rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels, and dual exhaust tips. The headlights have been redesigned to be sleeker, and the daytime running lights now run across the width of the bonnet.

Inside the cabin, the Elantra N features sportier bucket seats compared to the standard Elantra. It also includes a 4.2-inch instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Bose speakers, connected car technology, soft-touch materials on various surfaces, and more.

To improve handling, Hyundai has made several changes to the Elantra N. These include reinforcing the engine mounts, tweaking the suspension and ESC, introducing a new steering gearbox yoke with joint friction reduction for enhanced steering precision, and implementing new tire pressure to balance the load on the axles.

Under the hood, the Elantra N is powered by a specially designed 2.0-litre GDi turbocharged engine for the N range. This engine generates 276bhp and 392Nm of torque, and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed DCT gearbox. With these specifications, the Elantra N can achieve a top speed of 280kmph.
