Kia EV5 production SUV unveiled

Korean car brands, Kia and Hyundai, have been incredibly active in recent years, consistently releasing new models. The latest addition to Kia's lineup is the Kia EV5, a compact electric SUV. Unveiled at the Chengdu motor show in China, the EV5 features chunky styling inspired by the larger seven-seat Kia EV9, offering a balance of style and practicality.

While Kia has confirmed that the EV5 will be available in the Chinese market by the end of the year, there is no official word on whether it will be released in the UK. However, given the popularity of Kia's mid-sized petrol-powered Sportage model in the UK, it would be surprising if the EV5 is not offered there. Full specifications for the EV5 have not been released yet, but it is expected to have dimensions similar to the Sportage.

The design of the production EV5 closely resembles the EV5 concept car that was showcased earlier this year at the Shanghai Auto Show. It incorporates Kia's 'Opposites United' design language, seen in other models like the EV9 and the latest Kia Picanto facelift. The front of the EV5 features a series of LED daytime running light elements that form Kia's signature 'Tiger Face' grille design, although there is no actual grille present on the EV5.
