Kia EV5 production version unveiled
【Summary】Kia has revealed the EV5, a compact electric SUV with a range of 300 miles. It shares the same platform as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6. While deliveries will begin in China, it remains uncertain if the EV5 will be available in the UK. The design of the EV5 closely resembles the concept car shown earlier this year, featuring LED daytime running lights and a distinctive grille design.
The Korean car brands, Kia and Hyundai, have been extremely active in recent years, constantly releasing new models. The latest addition to their lineup is the Kia EV5, which was unveiled at the Chengdu motor show in China.
The EV5 is a compact electric SUV with a bold and chunky design, taking inspiration from the larger Kia EV9. It offers more practicality compared to the sleek EV6.
Kia has already confirmed that the EV5 will be available in the Chinese market by the end of the year. However, there is no information yet on whether it will be released in the UK. Given the popularity of Kia's mid-sized petrol-powered Sportage model in the UK, it would be surprising if the EV5 is not offered there.
The design and interior of the production EV5 closely resemble the EV5 concept car that was showcased earlier this year at the Shanghai Auto Show. It features Kia's 'Opposites United' design language, seen in other models like the EV9 and the latest Kia Picanto facelift. The front of the EV5 showcases a distinctive 'Tiger Face' grille design created using LED daytime running light elements.
