Kia representatives have confirmed that Australia is one of the key markets for their upcoming vehicle, which is believed to be named the Kia Tasman based on trademark filings. The vehicle is currently undergoing final validation testing and suspension tuning on local roads to ensure its suitability for the harsh on- and off-road conditions in the country.

Initially, the ute will be equipped with a diesel engine. However, Kia is also planning to introduce an electric version of the ute in the future. It remains uncertain whether the electric variant will be based on the same vehicle or if it will share a platform with Hyundai.
