Automobili Lamborghini is set to make its first official appearance at the Auto e Moto d'Epoca classic car show in Bologna. The event, which takes place from October 26 to 29, will feature two iconic Lamborghini models on display at the Lamborghini Polo Storico stand. These include the first Countach LP 400 ever produced and the body of an Espada currently undergoing restoration.
Alessandro Farmeschi, After Sales Director of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed excitement about the company's participation in the event. He highlighted the significance of the showcased cars, which represent Lamborghini's commitment to preserving its heritage and the restoration services offered by the Polo Storico department.
Polo Storico, established in 2015, is responsible for managing and studying the company archives, restoring classic Lamborghinis, certifying classic models, and organizing events for Lamborghini collectors.
The showcased Countach LP 400, with chassis number 1120001, is the oldest existing Countach and holds great historical value for Lamborghini. It was initially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1973 and went through various tests and development trials. In 2003, it was discovered that the car presumed to be a second Countach was, in fact, the same vehicle, as it still had its original red paint underneath the green exterior.
The Espada Series 3, with chassis number 8824, was the first four-seater car produced by Lamborghini. This front-engine 12-cylinder car, known for its low-slung design and innovation, was introduced in 1968. The Espada on display at the show was delivered in 1972 and is currently being restored by Polo Storico. It is presented in its bare sheet metal form, awaiting completion and return to its Japanese collector owner.
The Automobili Lamborghini stand can be found in Hall 32 at the Bologna Fiere exhibition space, between the Costituzione and Aldo Moro entrances. The show is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on October 27 and 28).
