Lucid Gravity electric SUV debuts at 2023 LA Auto Show

The Lucid Gravity luxury SUV will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 16 November. This new vehicle aims to compete in the highly lucrative electric SUV market, going head-to-head with established luxury electric SUVs such as the BMW iX, Mercedes EQS SUV, Tesla Model X, Lotus Eletre, Volvo EX90, and the all-electric version of the Range Rover set to launch next year.

Teaser images released in November 2022 gave us a glimpse of the Lucid Gravity's design and capabilities. The SUV shares similarities with the Lucid Air, including its distinctive front end design, 'LED Micro Array' headlights, contrasting roofline, and full-width rear light bar. The windscreen also extends back over the front seat passengers, with a horizontal crossbar providing structural support.

Lucid claims that the Gravity will be the most aerodynamic SUV ever created. Despite its boxy shape, the SUV's short overhangs at the front and rear are expected to maximize interior space. The Gravity will be available in five, six, or seven-seat configurations, with the six-seat version featuring reclining chairs in the middle row.

The interior design of the Gravity is anticipated to be similar to the Lucid Air's. It will feature the next-generation of Lucid's UX infotainment software and 'Glass Cockpit' displays. The Air's setup includes a curved 34-inch 5K panel for instruments and infotainment, similar to the Porsche Taycan. The SUV is also expected to have a retractable screen for adjusting settings and drive modes, as well as physical shortcut buttons.
