Met 'neglected third assault inquiry near Two Brewers pub'

A man has accused the Metropolitan Police of neglecting to reach out to him after he was allegedly assaulted outside a pub in Clapham where a homophobic attack occurred a week later. According to ITV News, the man suffered a black eye and a bleeding nose after being punched near the Two Brewers on August 6. The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported the incident but claimed that the police did not make an effort to contact him. His boyfriend, frustrated by the lack of response, contacted the police again yesterday.

The Met was approached for a comment by the press office, and subsequently, a representative from the police reached out to the victim after ITV News reported on the incident. The victim, in his thirties, was informed that a crime report had been filed and that investigations into the incident were ongoing. The Met urged anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 or tweeting @MetCC, quoting CAD 1266/6Aug.

Recently, the Metropolitan Police released a CCTV image of a man they are seeking to identify in connection with a homophobic stabbing that occurred outside the Two Brewers on August 13. The victims, one in their twenties and the other in their thirties, were both hospitalized but have since been discharged. Detective Chief Inspector Jivan Saib appealed to the public, asking them to help identify and locate the individual in the CCTV image as soon as possible.

One of the victims took to Instagram to share their thoughts after the attack, expressing their confusion about what could lead someone to change their mindset to the point of feeling justified in attacking another person. They questioned how society can address and change this behavior. The Two Brewers also posted a statement on Instagram, thanking everyone for their support and solidarity and expressing their thoughts and well wishes for the victims. They vowed to continue business as usual and not let the attack deter them from spreading love.
