Moskvich, the former Renault auto plant in Russia, has recently expanded its dealership network, adding new partners in 12 Russian cities. The carmaker has partnered with car dealerships in Barnaul, Vologda, Murmansk, Novosibirsk, Penza, Ryazan, Rostov, Surgut, Tambov, Togliatti, Tomsk, and Cherepovets, with these locations currently preparing to open.
This expansion comes as Moskvich already has 55 sales and service centers in 25 Russian cities. The company is continuously working to strengthen its presence across the country.
Since November 2022, the Moscow plant has been engaged in the semi-knocked down assembly of cars under the Moskvich brand. This move came six months after French automaker Renault exited the Russian market. The plant currently produces two models of crossovers, the Moskvich 3 with an internal combustion engine and the electric Moskvich 3e. The components for these vehicles are sourced from China's JAC.
In the year 2023, the plant has set a target to produce a minimum of 50,000 cars, including 10,000 electric vehicles. This demonstrates Moskvich's commitment to expanding its production capabilities and meeting the growing demand for electric vehicles in Russia.
