Japanese car and motorcycle manufacturer, Honda, has established itself as one of the leaders in the industry, known for producing high-quality and reliable vehicles.
Recently, Honda announced the revival of a beloved product called the 'Motocompacto'. This foldable e-scooter first entered the vehicle market in the 1980s under the name 'Motocompo personal scooter'.
TechCrunch+ has described the Motocompacto as "irresistibly, heartbreakingly dorky and adorable." While it retains some elements from its predecessor, Honda has added a sci-fi aesthetic that gives it a futuristic appearance reminiscent of a game from the year 2077.
The Motocompacto has a top speed of 15 mph (approximately 24 km/h). Honda is dedicated to making this endearing e-scooter affordable for the masses, with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of just $995!
As an e-scooter, the Motocompacto produces zero emissions, making it an environmentally friendly mode of transportation, particularly suitable for campuses and urban areas.
The Motocompacto will be available for purchase in November through Honda's official website and authorized dealers. It is not merely a concept, but a tangible product ready for consumers.
According to Honda, the Motocompacto can be fully charged in 3.5 hours and has a range of 12 mph (approximately 19 km/h).
This e-scooter features a folding design that enhances its compactness even further. It was designed by American engineers from Ohio and California, who had customization in mind. In the future, users can expect decals, stickers, skins, and other customization options.
In addition, Honda announced that the Motocompacto will have an apparel lineup upon its release, including a helmet, backpack, and branded accessories, catering to the fans of this unique vehicle.
The Motocompacto is accompanied by a dedicated application that allows users to store different light and drive modes, enhancing the overall experience.
Al Bawaba eagerly anticipates the competition that this adorable little e-scooter will bring to the electric vehicle industry.
