Munro's initial batch of vehicles almost finished.

Munro Vehicles, a Scottish manufacturer of all-electric 4x4s, is making progress in completing its first vehicles for customers. The factory in East Kilbride has received over 250 pre-orders for both truck and pick-up models, with expectations of increased volume from target markets in mining, construction, utilities, agriculture, and defense.

The company recently invited 61 investors, deposit holders, and supporters to witness the production of the first light vehicle in Scotland in over four decades. Graham Simpson, a Conservative MSP and member of the Scottish Parliament's Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficiency groups, expressed his fascination with Munro Vehicles and highlighted the importance of zero-emission mobility for Scotland's future, particularly in challenging sectors like agriculture, forestry, and wind turbine management. He believes that Munro's all-electric 4x4 could provide a solution for these sectors and potentially create skilled job opportunities in the region.

Russell Peterson, the CEO and Co-Founder of Munro, expressed his pride in sharing the engineering and passion behind the creation of these impressive all-terrain electric vehicles. He also mentioned the pleasure of welcoming MSP Graham Simpson to the company's headquarters and showcasing Scottish innovation in sustainable transport.

The first two customer vehicles, known as Founder Editions, are currently being hand-built in Munro's East Kilbride headquarters. The truck, constructed to Munro's Range specification, offers 220kW of power, 600Nm of torque, an estimated range of 190 miles, and a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes. The pick-up model features a 280kW battery, 700Nm of torque, a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, and a similar estimated range of 190 miles.

The Munro MK_1 is equipped with an 82.4kWh battery that can be rapidly recharged from 15% to 80% capacity in just 36 minutes using a 100kW DC charger. A fully charged battery provides a range of over 190 miles, allowing for up to 16 hours of off-road operation on a single charge.
