Nanrobot N6 electric scooter review

For some electric scooter riders, modest speeds of 15-20 mph (24-40 km/h) are plenty. However, there are others who require faster speeds to travel on larger roads or cover longer distances on their scooter commutes. Nanrobot has introduced their latest model, the Nanrobot N6, with these types of riders in mind.

The Nanrobot N6 electric scooter has a top speed of 40 mph (65 km/h), making it ideal for those who need faster speeds. Unlike some imported scooters, the N6 provides a smooth and stable ride even at its top speed.

Nanrobot N6 tech specs

The Nanrobot N6 is equipped with dual 1,000W hub motors, offering more power and speed. It has a 52V 26Ah (1,352 Wh) battery, providing a range of 40 miles (65 km). The scooter weighs 88 lb (40 kg) and has a load capacity of 330 lb (150 kg). It features front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, 10-inch pneumatic off-road tires, and front and rear LED lights.

Fast electric scooters can be expensive, but the Nanrobot N6 aims to deliver high performance at a more affordable price. Priced at $1,899, the N6 offers similar performance to more expensive scooters like the 2023 Apollo Pro, which costs around $3,000.

While riding the Nanrobot N6, I had the opportunity to experience its power and speed. Although I didn't reach the top speed of 40 mph all the time, I thoroughly enjoyed pushing the limits. To ensure safety, I wore a full-face helmet and Nanrobot's armored jacket for extra protection.

It's important to note that high speeds should only be utilized in appropriate settings. I rode the scooter on a road with a speed limit of 45 mph and a wide bike lane. In city bike lanes, it is not advisable to ride at such high speeds. Most cyclists in Florida prefer using the multiuse paths set 20 feet back from the road.

The Nanrobot N6's ability to reach high speeds is thanks to its pair of 1,000W hub motors, which generate significant power. The scooter is equipped with a large 52V and 26Ah battery, providing ample range. With such a battery capacity, it is unlikely to run out of charge unless forgotten to be charged. Riders can expect a range of at least 30 miles (48 km) per charge, with some achieving closer to 45 or 50 miles (72-80 km) at more moderate speeds.

The scooter also includes a second charge port, allowing for faster charging with a second charger.

Regardless of the speed, the Nanrobot N6 offers a comfortable riding experience. The scooter's suspension is decent, providing a smooth ride, and it feels nimble. The 360-degree lighting system enhances visibility at night, and the brakes offer confident stops with hydraulic braking.

The folding mechanism of the Nanrobot N6 is user-friendly. It features a screw wheel that is easy to close securely, and the stem folds down and locks into the deck. Although the scooter weighs 88 pounds (40 kg), it can be lifted and carried with confidence, especially when placed in a car.

One major gripe about the Nanrobot N6 is its throttle design. It uses an index-finger pull throttle, which is located above the brake lever. This can be confusing for new riders, as it is easy to mistake one for the other. Thumb throttles are generally preferred over index finger throttles due to their placement away from the brake levers.

Overall, the Nanrobot N6 delivers on its promise of performance. Priced at $1,899, it offers a fast, powerful, and comfortable ride. While the throttle design may be a drawback for some, the scooter's other features and performance make up for it.
