No return for Meghan Markle over Kate Middleton curtsey issue
【Summary】Meghan Markle is unlikely to return to the UK due to the issue of curtseying to Kate Middleton, according to royal biographer Andrew Morton. He believes that Meghan and Prince Harry have their own lives in California and wouldn't want Meghan to have to curtsey to Kate. Prince Harry is set to visit the UK alone for the WellChild awards and the Invictus Games, while Meghan will join him later.
A royal biographer has suggested that Meghan Markle will not want to return to the UK in the future and face curtseying to the Princess of Wales. Andrew Morton, who collaborated with Diana, Princess of Wales on his book in 1992, ruled out a move back from the US for Meghan and Prince Harry. He believes that Meghan would not want to curtsey to Kate Middleton and that they have their own lives in California.
It is customary for Royal Highnesses to bow and curtsey only to majesties, so Meghan would only have to do so to Kate once she becomes Queen.
Prince Harry is set to visit the UK without Meghan this week to attend the WellChild awards in London before heading to the Invictus Games in Germany. He will be joining Meghan later in Germany. During his visit, he is not expected to meet his father, the King, or his brother, the Prince of Wales, due to their troubled relationship.
In his autobiography, Harry explored the fractious relationship between Meghan and Kate. He recounted an incident where Meghan said Kate was suffering from "baby brain" due to her hormones, which upset Kate who was pregnant with Prince Louis at the time. Harry also revealed that Meghan was left "sobbing on the floor" after a disagreement over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress.
Andrew described how Diana had hoped for Prince Charles to move to Italy with Camilla, leaving William to become King with Harry as his wingman. However, this never happened.
Andrew's comments come just days after the anniversary of Diana's death and ahead of the release of unheard audio tapes of the late princess in an upcoming documentary.
