October 2023's best-selling vehicles - SUVs experience surge in sales

In October 2023, the automotive sales witnessed the inclusion of several SUVs in the top 10 list, indicating a shift in consumer preferences. Buyers are now seeking more from their vehicles. The introduction of facelift models has contributed to increased sales of SUVs, while hatchback sales are also on the rise. Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the sales with six models securing a place in the top 10 list.
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Swift occupy the first and second positions, selling 22,080 units and 20,598 units respectively in October 2023. This represents a year-on-year growth of 23 percent and 20 percent. The Tata Nexon secures the third spot with 16,887 units sold, showing a growth of 23 percent.
According to the latest data, the Mahindra Scorpio has made it to the top 10 list of best-selling vehicles with an impressive 83 percent year-on-year growth. This achievement highlights the popularity of SUVs among buyers. Additionally, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Brezza occupy the fourth and fifth places, selling 16,594 units and 16,050 units respectively. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has experienced a substantial 61 percent year-on-year growth, while the Baleno has seen a slight decline of 3 percent.
In the sixth position, we have the Tata Punch, which sold 15,317 units in October 2023, showing a year-on-year growth of 39 percent. Following closely are two more Maruti Suzuki models, the Dzire and Ertiga. Maruti Suzuki sold 14,699 units of the Dzire and 14,209 units of the Ertiga.
The last two vehicles on the top 10 list are the Mahindra Scorpio and the Hyundai Creta. The Mahindra Scorpio secures the ninth position with 13,578 units sold, displaying a remarkable 83 percent growth. Finally, the Hyundai Creta settles for the tenth spot, having sold 13,077 units in October 2023.
