Several luxury car brands in Vietnam, including Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Volvo, have significantly reduced their prices in October. These price cuts amount to hundreds of millions of dong, which is equivalent to around US$4,200.

Audi, for instance, is offering discounts on a wide range of models, including the A4, A6, A8L, Q2, Q3, Q5, Q5 Sportback, Q7, A7 Sportback, and Q8. These discounts can go up to VND300 million.

Similarly, Mercedes is providing discounts of 6-10% on some locally assembled models like the C-class and E-class, as well as 3% on imports such as the GLB and GLS. For example, the C-class, which is priced between VND1.599-2.099 billion, is getting a discount of 6%, amounting to VND95-125 million.

In addition to the price cuts, Mercedes is also subsidizing registration fees for locally made vehicles. In HCMC, where the registration fee is 10%, Mercedes is covering half of the cost. In the north, where the fee is 12%, the company is also subsidizing half of the registration fee. The rates are slightly different in Hanoi, Hai Phong City, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Volvo, on the other hand, is covering half of the registration fee for all models except the V60 Cross Country line, for which it pays the full fee.

Truong Hai, a distributor of BMW cars, is also offering significant discounts. The prices of the X5, Series 5, Series X3, and Series 3 have been reduced by VND160 million, VND80 million, VND70 million, and VND50 million, respectively.

Despite the price cuts and increased demand in October, analysts do not expect vehicle sales to reach the same level as last year, when they reached 500,000 units.
