Porsche 911 S/T Puma Sneakers: The Ultimate Car-Themed Footwear
【Summary】Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 911 sports car with the release of two sneaker designs inspired by the 911 S/T and the original 911 S. The 911 S/T is a lightweight car with a powerful engine, while the Retro Sneaker pays homage to the classic 911 S 2.5 with its design elements. The sneakers feature a light blue exterior, retro grille-bad hangtag design, and the number 56 on the heel, reminiscent of the 911 that raced in 1972. The red-orange laces add a Gulf Oil livery look.
Porsche is celebrating not only its 75th anniversary as a brand but also the 60th anniversary of the iconic 911 sports car. To mark this milestone, the German automaker has introduced the Porsche 911 S/T and released two sneaker designs inspired by both the 911 S/T and the original 911 S.
The new 911 S/T is a lightweight car that draws inspiration from the 1972 911 S. It features a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine sourced from the 911 GT3 RS, paired with a manual gearbox with shorter ratios and a single-mass flywheel.
In addition to the 911 S/T, Porsche Design has unveiled the classic Puma Retro Sneaker to pay homage to the oldie but goodie 911 S 2.5. The sneaker is colored in the same light blue exterior as the car, with a retro-grille-bad hangtag design and the number 56 on the heel. This number represents the Porsche 911 that participated in GT racing in 1972, although it did not officially bear the S/T name at that time. The red-orange laces of the sneaker give it a Gulf Oil livery look.
