Ruf CTR 3 Evo: Tuner's Ultimate Power

German manufacturer Ruf has recently unveiled its most powerful car yet, the CTR 3 Evo, during Monterey Car Week. This new model is a completely redesigned and heavily upgraded version of the Porsche Cayman-based CTR 3 Clubsport, although it is separate from it.

The CTR 3 Evo is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat six engine that produces an impressive 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. This is 23bhp and 8lb ft more than its Clubsport counterpart. The maximum power is achieved at 7100rpm, while the maximum torque is deployed at 4000rpm.

While the car pictured in the article features Ruf's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, it is worth noting that the Clubsport can also be equipped with a six-speed manual. Therefore, it is possible that the Evo may also become available with this option.

Similar to the Koenigsegg Agera RS, the body of the CTR 3 Evo is constructed using a Kevlar-composite material. This material is known for its lightweight properties, strength, and heat resistance.

Although the top speed and 0-62mph time of the CTR 3 Evo are not yet known, it is expected to be faster than the Clubsport. The Clubsport is capable of reaching a top speed of 236mph and accelerating from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

In addition to engine tuning, the CTR 3 Evo also features modifications to its suspension system, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a track-ready dry-sump lubrication system. These upgrades enhance its performance and handling, similar to the Ferrari 488 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Inside the CTR 3 Evo, drivers will find one-piece body-hugging sports seats made from carbonfibre and upholstered in Alcantara with contrasting yellow stitching. This adds a touch of luxury and sportiness to the interior.

Interested customers can order the CTR 3 Evo at a cost of more than $725,000 (£570,466). This makes it more expensive than the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 and the Ferrari SF90, which are similarly positioned in terms of performance.
