Ruf CTR 3 Evo: Unleashing Unprecedented Power
【Summary】German tuning specialist Ruf has unveiled its most powerful car yet, the CTR 3 Evo. The car features a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat six engine producing 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. The body is made from a lightweight Kevlar-composite material, and the car comes with various upgrades to its suspension, brakes, and lubrication system. The price of the CTR 3 Evo is expected to be over $725,000, making it more expensive than other high-performance models on the market.
German manufacturer Ruf has recently introduced its most powerful car to date, the CTR 3 Evo. Unveiled at Monterey Car Week, this model is a completely redesigned and heavily upgraded version based on the Porsche Cayman-based CTR 3 Clubsport, although it is separate from it.
The CTR 3 Evo is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat six engine, producing an impressive 789bhp and 730lb ft of torque. This represents an increase of 23bhp and 8lb ft compared to the Clubsport model. The maximum power is achieved at 7100rpm, while the maximum torque is deployed at 4000rpm.
While the car pictured features Ruf's seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, it is worth noting that the Clubsport can also be equipped with a six-speed manual. Therefore, it is possible that the Evo may also offer this option.
The body of the CTR 3 Evo is constructed from a Kevlar-composite material, similar to the lightweight properties, strength, and heat resistance found in the Koenigsegg Agera RS.
Although the top speed and 0-62mph time have not been disclosed, it is expected that the Evo will outperform the Clubsport, which is capable of reaching speeds of up to 236mph and accelerating from 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds.
In addition to engine enhancements, the CTR 3 Evo features modifications to its suspension system, including a MacPherson-strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. It is also equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and a track-ready dry-sump lubrication system, similar to those found in the Ferrari 488 GTB and Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
Inside the CTR 3 Evo, one can find one-piece body-hugging sports seats made from carbonfibre and upholstered in Alcantara, with contrasting yellow stitching.
Customers interested in the CTR 3 Evo can place an order for this high-performance vehicle at a cost of over $725,000 (£570,466). This makes it more expensive than both the similarly positioned Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 and the equally potent Ferrari SF90.
