Seized Collection of Luxury Cars Sells for $3.2 Million

Car collector and YouTuber Omi In A Hellcat, whose legal name is Bill Omar Carrasquillo, achieved great success on the internet with his YouTube channel, garnering millions of views and enjoying a luxurious lifestyle. However, it seems that his extravagant lifestyle may have been funded by a side hustle involving a wide-reaching cable piracy scheme. Carrasquillo used illegal equipment from China to spoof cable TV programming from Comcast and Verizon. As a result of his involvement in this piracy scheme, Carrasquillo has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison. Additionally, he is required to pay back $15 million in restitution and an additional $30 million in forfeiture judgment.

In an effort to help pay off Carrasquillo's debts, U.S. Marshals seized his collection of cars and fine jewelry. However, the sale of these seized assets only brought in $3.22 million, which is a small fraction of the amount owed. The collection included 32 cars and 25 powersports vehicles, featuring a variety of luxurious vehicles such as Lamborghinis, Mopars, a Bentley, and several European sports cars, mostly in white or silver. The highest selling vehicle at the online auction was the 2019 Aventador LP740-4 S wrapped in Power Rangers, which sold for $441,000.

While the Aventador may have been the most valuable car at the auction, the true highlight was a stunning all-original 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS with only 12 miles on the odometer. This pristine vehicle fetched an astonishing $53,750 at the auction. One can only imagine the joy of driving a brand new Impala SS and taking it on a long road trip, quickly adding miles to the odometer. It is likely that this car will soon appear on Bring A Trailer with a reserve price in the six-figure range.

The moral of this story seems to be clear - engaging in cable piracy is not worth the consequences. And if one does choose to participate in such illegal activities, it is best not to challenge the legal powerhouses of Comcast or Verizon, as the outcome is unlikely to be favorable.
