Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has announced that the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will utilize its Snapdragon automotive solutions to provide advanced capabilities to Cadillac customers. The Escalade IQ will be powered by the Snapdragon Digital Chassis solution, enabling it to deliver top-notch in-vehicle experiences, performance, and safety features. This collaboration between Cadillac and Qualcomm Technologies is an extension of their long-term relationship, both aiming to incorporate the latest vehicle capabilities and technologies as the automotive industry undergoes digital transformation. Customer deliveries of the Escalade IQ are expected to commence in late 2024.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon Digital Chassis will play a crucial role in powering the 2025 Escalade IQ. This announcement highlights the increasing demand for automakers to streamline the design of their software-defined vehicles, as well as the growing maturity of Qualcomm's portfolio of automotive solutions. The Snapdragon Digital Chassis stack comprises four main pillars: connectivity, cockpit tech, Car-to-Cloud features, and ADAS. These platforms enable enhanced connectivity, digital instrument clusters, infotainment controls, over-the-air updates, and advanced driver-assist and autonomous driving features.

The 2025 Escalade IQ will feature several Snapdragon platforms. The Snapdragon Cockpit Platform will provide digital instrument clusters and infotainment controls, powering the vehicle's curved pillar-to-pillar 55-inch LED display. The Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF platform will offer ultra-fast connectivity and quick network response times, enhancing safety, personalization, entertainment, and productivity features. The Snapdragon Ride Platform, one of the industry's most advanced automated driving systems, will deliver low-latency control function, high-performance, and power-efficient AI compute for camera and radar processing.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon Digital Chassis stack enables automakers to expedite the design of software-defined vehicles. Cadillac's decision to leverage the synergies between these platforms demonstrates the value of Qualcomm's technology stack for automakers. By providing interoperable, modular platforms that work well together, Qualcomm enables automakers to accelerate development and create differentiated experiences for their brands. This approach aligns with Qualcomm's strategy in the mobile ecosystem, where it prioritizes premium designs and gradually introduces features into lower price tiers over time.

In addition to luxury and performance, the 2025 Escalade IQ focuses on road safety for everyone. The implementation of advanced safety systems, such as Low Ride Mode, automatic braking, cross-traffic detection, and HD Surround Vision, aims to protect vulnerable cyclists, bikers, and pedestrians. These features, combined with the vehicle's aerodynamics and powerful acceleration capabilities, contribute to a safer environment in urban and congested areas.

GM's choice to power the 2025 Escalade IQ with Qualcomm Snapdragon automotive platforms underscores Qualcomm's ability to redefine the Escalade for the electric vehicle era. Qualcomm's expertise in developing high-performing systems-on-chip and its strong ecosystem plays have positioned the company as a trusted partner in the automotive space. With over a decade of innovation and partnerships with iconic automotive brands, Qualcomm has laid the foundations for its success in the premium EV segment.
