A Tesla Cybertruck recently encountered charging issues at a Supercharger station in the Mojave desert and had to be towed, providing an interesting size comparison with the Ford F-150 Raptor.
Tesla currently has a significant number of Cybertruck prototypes undergoing testing in various locations, as they prepare for deliveries to begin next month.
It is not uncommon for vehicles in testing programs to experience breakdowns, and this has provided opportunities for closer inspection of the electric pickup truck, such as a first look at its suspension.
A member of the Cybertruck Owner's Club, known as CHC, spotted a prototype at the Mojave Supercharger and reported that the vehicle was unable to charge and required a tow truck. CHC had a brief conversation with an engineer who admitted to not knowing the exact range of the truck, but suggested it would be comparable to or better than a Model X. The engineer also mentioned that the price of the Cybertruck was still being determined.
It should be noted that the statements made by Tesla employees should be taken with caution, as they are instructed not to disclose any information prior to the delivery event.
CHC parked their Ford F-150 Raptor next to the Cybertruck to make a quick size comparison. While the Raptor appeared taller, the Cybertruck's unique geometry gave it a wider appearance at the back. CHC observed that the Cybertruck looked larger in person and believed it to be a full-size truck.
Due to its charging issues, the Cybertruck had to be moved from the Supercharger stall using rollers. The prototype seen at the Supercharger featured aero hub caps, which are expected to be included in the production version as Tesla aims to maximize the truck's aerodynamics.
Tesla has scheduled a delivery event for the Cybertruck on November 30th, where they are anticipated to reveal the final specifications and pricing for their highly anticipated electric pickup truck.
