Tesla enables Apple Shortcuts integration for car control

Tesla owners can now enjoy even more convenience with the latest update to the Tesla mobile app for iOS. In version 4.24.0, Tesla has introduced support for Apple Shortcuts, making it easier than ever to control your car. Apple Shortcuts is a free app that comes pre-installed on iPhones and iPads, allowing users to set up time-saving settings for various actions. With this update, Tesla owners can access these shortcuts directly from their Tesla app, saving them time and effort.
Shortcuts can be accessed with a tap or by using Siri, Apple's digital assistant. This means that Tesla owners can now spend less time in their cars and more time talking to Siri. The app offers a total of 15 shortcuts, including the ability to lock and unlock the vehicle, start preconditioning, enable or disable Sentry and Dog mode, open and close the charging port, boot, and bonnet, among others. Users can also create their own shortcuts and chain multiple actions together for even more convenience.
Once a shortcut is set up, it can be accessed through Siri or added to the Home Screen for easy access. The ability to chain multiple actions into one shortcut allows for more complex commands to be created. For example, users can set up a shortcut that locks the Tesla, closes all windows, and enables Sentry mode with just one tap. For even more automation, the Shortcuts app can be used to create Automations, which allow shortcuts to be run based on certain conditions, such as arriving at a specific location or at a certain time of day.
To take advantage of this new functionality, Tesla owners simply need to update their Tesla app on iOS to the latest version. With Apple Shortcuts integration, Tesla owners can now enjoy a more seamless and efficient experience when interacting with their vehicles.
