Tesla's executive announces limited availability of Cybertrucks at delivery event
【Summary】Tesla will only deliver 10 Cybertrucks at the upcoming delivery event, according to a company executive. This low number is not uncommon for Tesla at a production launch event. CEO Elon Musk has previously stated that it will take about 18 months to reach a production of 5,000 units per week.
Tesla is set to deliver only 10 Cybertrucks at its upcoming delivery event, as confirmed by a company executive. After much anticipation and several delays, the long-awaited Cybertruck will finally be delivered at an event on November 30th.
Speculations have been circulating that Tesla would initially only deliver the electric pickup truck to employees and insiders, as the company has yet to announce the vehicle's specifications and pricing for the production version. The exact number of Cybertrucks to be delivered at the event was also unclear.
Despite hopes that Tesla could quickly deliver a large number of Cybertrucks, given the sightings of production activity at Gigafactory Texas in recent months, CEO Elon Musk has cautioned against high expectations for Cybertruck production.
Adding to the discussion, Tesla's product design director, Javier Verdura, shared his thoughts on the Cybertruck launch during a conference in Monterrey, Mexico. He revealed that the company plans to deliver the first 10 Cybertrucks at the event.
While this number may seem low to some, it is not uncommon for Tesla to start with a limited production at launch events, based on past vehicle programs. It is expected that the automaker will gradually increase production from there.
Musk has previously stated that he anticipates it will take Tesla approximately 18 months to reach a production rate of 5,000 Cybertrucks per week. This volume production goal is projected to be achieved by 2025.
