Tesla's New Wall Connector Revolutionizes Charging

Tesla has introduced its Universal Wall Connector, a charging device that can conveniently charge any electric vehicle. The charger includes a North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug and an Integrated J1772 adapter, making it compatible with non-Tesla electric cars. One of the key features of the Universal Wall Connector is its integrated J1772 adapter, which is specifically designed for charging non-Teslas. This new charger was announced by Tesla through social media and is now available in the US and Canada.

Similar to the Magic Dock system used in Tesla's Supercharger stations, the Universal Wall Connector offers several innovative functions. With an output of 11.5 kW/48 amps, it can add 44 miles of range per hour. The charger also features Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing for over-the-air software updates. Additionally, the Universal Wall Connector provides access to the Tesla App, which enables users to monitor and manage their charging schedule and usage. This feature is not commonly found in non-Tesla chargers, making it a valuable tool for electric vehicle owners.

Priced at $595, the Universal Wall Connector is more expensive than Tesla's current Wall Connector, priced at $475. However, the added features and convenience of the Universal Wall Connector may justify the higher price. Interested buyers can place their orders for the product, with shipments expected to start in October.
