Toyota production resumes after technical issue

Toyota, the world's top automaker, announced that it would resume operations at all 14 of its assembly plants in Japan on Wednesday. This comes after a computer system failure caused production to halt the day before. Initially, production was set to restart at 12 plants and 25 lines, excluding the Miyata plant in Fukuoka Prefecture and Daihatsu Motor's plant in Kyoto. However, the company later stated that all plants would resume operations in the afternoon.

Following the sudden halt in production on Tuesday, concerns arose that the stoppage could be a result of a cyberattack. However, Toyota dismissed this possibility and stated that an investigation was underway to determine the cause. It is worth noting that in late February last year, the automaker experienced a similar situation when production lines came to a standstill due to a cyberattack on one of its parts suppliers.
