Toyota resumes operations after production halt

Toyota, the world's leading automaker, announced that it would resume operations at all 14 of its assembly plants in Japan on Wednesday. This comes after a computer system failure caused production to come to a halt the previous day.

The company initially planned to restart production at 12 plants and 25 lines in Japan, excluding the Miyata plant in Fukuoka Prefecture and Daihatsu Motor's plant in Kyoto. However, in a statement released on Tuesday, Toyota confirmed that all plants would be back in operation from the afternoon onwards.

Concerns were raised when the decision to halt production was made, with some speculating that it could be the result of a cyberattack. Toyota, however, dismissed this possibility and stated that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the system failure. It is worth noting that in February of last year, the automaker experienced a similar situation when a cyberattack on one of its parts suppliers led to a production halt.
