Toyota Tacoma Conversion Land Cruiser
【Summary】Flex Automotive has introduced the Renoca Windansea, a modified Toyota Tacoma that resembles a classic Land Cruiser. The Windansea features a custom-built front fascia with circular headlights, a rectangular grille, and a big front bumper. Optional add-ons include a lift kit, side steps, roof lights, and a bed rack. The Windansea uses the Tacoma's V6 engine and is priced at $52,800 before additional customization.
Flex Automotive is expanding its Renoca series by introducing a new truck with a retro design. Known as the Renoca Windansea, this modified Toyota Tacoma features a custom-built front fascia reminiscent of the old 60 Series Land Cruiser. The design includes circular headlights, a rectangular grille, a large front bumper, and a metal skid plate. The Windansea's face is its most notable visual change from the original Tacoma, with additional black trim on the fenders and windows, as well as new wheels.
While the Windansea offers some optional features such as a lift kit, side steps, roof lights, and a bed rack, these can also be added to any Tacoma using aftermarket parts. Inside the Windansea, customers have the option to add a dashboard cover, new seats, sound system upgrades, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, and Weathertech floor mats. However, these modifications are not exclusive to the Windansea and can be applied to any Tacoma.
Compared to Flex's other Renoca models based on the 80 and 100 Series Land Cruisers, the Windansea's design appears less cohesive. The rectangular 60 Series face, with its flat lines and sharper corners, does not complement the Tacoma's rounded edges and curved A-pillars as well as it does with other Land Cruiser models. While the Windansea is still visually appealing, it lacks the seamless integration found in the Renoca 106 (100 Series Land Cruiser with a 60 Series face) and the Wonder (80 Series with a 60 Series face).
The Windansea is equipped with the Tacoma's V6 engine, a 3.5-liter unit that delivers 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The kit for the Windansea is manufactured in Japan and then shipped to Flex's San Diego location for assembly. Prices for the Windansea start at $52,800, which includes the used Tacoma, paint matched to the donor car, wheels, and tires, before any additional add-ons.
