Toyota Teases Electric FJ Cruiser Replacement
【Summary】Toyota has potentially teased an electric successor to the FJ Cruiser, with a larger SUV that could rival the Rivian R2. There is also speculation that the teased vehicle could be the bZ5X, a three-row electric SUV, but more information from Toyota is needed to confirm.
Contrary to popular belief, the car shown in the image is not the Compact Cruiser concept. Although the design of the car in the image was undeniably cool, the original concept was actually much smaller and intended to compete in the compact SUV segment. In comparison, this new SUV seems to be approximately 20% to 30% larger, potentially positioning it as a rival to the upcoming Rivian R2.
Now, let's talk about the other vehicle lurking in the shadows. It bears a striking resemblance to the bZ5X, a three-row electric SUV. Toyota has previously announced plans to manufacture a new three-row electric SUV in the United States, and the image suggests that the teased vehicle has the necessary length for such a model. However, there are a couple of factors that cast doubt on the theory that this is the US-bound bZ5X. Firstly, the vehicle was teased during an international presentation, not an American one. Additionally, the area behind the C-pillar does not align with the original concept of the bZ5X. We will have to patiently wait for more information from Toyota, although we anticipate that the wait won't be too long.
