All 28 vehicle assembly lines at Toyota's 14 auto plants in Japan were unexpectedly halted on Tuesday due to a computer system issue related to incoming auto parts. Although Toyota does not suspect a cyberattack, the exact cause of the problem is still being investigated, according to spokeswoman Sawako Takeda.
As of now, it remains uncertain when the assembly lines will resume operations. The temporary shutdown has undoubtedly impacted Toyota's production schedule and may lead to delays in delivering vehicles to customers.
