TWR announces return with stunning V12 Jaguar XJS

Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), a renowned British racing and engineering outfit, is making a comeback after a two-decade hiatus. Their maiden project is the revival of the V12 Jaguar XJS, with the help of car culture icon Magnus Walker and conceptual design guru Khyzyl Saleem. Together, they aim to reimagine the XJS, originally built between 1975 and 1996, for the 21st century.

Magnus Walker has been deeply involved in every aspect of the car's creation process. From designing the car to working with suppliers for parts and even road testing, his expertise and reputation in restoring old 911s make him a valuable addition to the team. Magnus expressed his excitement about the project, stating that the original TWR put Jaguar on the map and that he is thrilled to be part of this next generation of the XJS.

For Magnus, drivability, usability, and practicality are key. He wants the XJS to perform well in real-world situations, from idle to throttle transition to bumper-to-bumper traffic on the freeway. He is fully committed to the project and is eager to contribute his 110% effort to its success. On the other hand, Khyzyl Saleem, who has been working with TWR for some time, will use his considerable talents to visually enhance Magnus' mechanical vision.

Khyzyl sees the XJS as a car with untapped potential, often overshadowed by the iconic E-Type. He is excited about the opportunity to give the XJS a new life and be part of its transformation into a modern classic. TWR, founded in 1976, has a rich history with Jaguar, including a successful race program for the XJS. This collaboration reached its peak with the TWR-Jaguar XJR-9, which won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1990.

Thanks to Fergus Walkinshaw, son of TWR's founding father Tom Walkinshaw, the brand has made a highly anticipated return and operates from its base in Newbury, Berkshire. Fergus looks forward to delivering more bespoke creations that capture the spirit of TWR's heyday.
