Track day enthusiasts often gravitate towards small manufacturers like Caterham, Radical, Dallara, BAC, Ariel, or Ginetta. However, there are also custom-made vehicles with racecar aesthetics and track-focused setups that capture their attention. One such example is the unnamed prototype featured in the picture, which was meticulously handbuilt using Audi parts.

At first glance, this vehicle resembles the iconic Group C racecars from the '80s and '90s. It boasts a low and wide stance, a sleek droplet-shaped canopy, and a central driving position. The absence of mirrors and license plates indicates that it is exclusively designed for the track, making it unfit for road use.

The prototype showcases several features that emphasize its track capabilities, including a prominent splitter, wide shoulders, NACA-style air ducts, side exhausts, a roof scoop, a large rear wing, and wide rear tires. However, it remains uncertain if this build incorporates any motorsport DNA beneath its striking exterior. The owner mentions the extensive use of Audi parts but fails to provide specific details about the underlying framework or specifications. Based on its appearance, it is possible that the model relies on a custom chassis rather than adopting the architecture of a donor vehicle.

Regarding its powertrain, the prototype is equipped with a rear-mounted V6 sourced from the first-generation Audi A4. Although the ideal choice for such a build would have been the bi-turbo 2.7-liter V6 from the original RS4, the prototype instead features the 2.8-liter unit derived from a less powerful variant. This engine generates up to 190 horsepower (193 PS / 142 kW), which is quite substantial for a lightweight vehicle. Additionally, it can be easily tuned for even greater performance. The owner assures potential buyers that the prototype is in working condition, albeit requiring some minor repairs.

This unique vehicle is currently located in Vásárosnamény, Hungary, and was listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. It was recently shared in the Unique Cars For Sale 3.0 Group, with an asking price of €20,000 ($21,840). Although this price is relatively affordable compared to most track-day toys, it is worth noting that a used Mazda MX-5 could be purchased and modified for significantly less. Unfortunately, the listing is no longer available, indicating that someone may have already acquired this distinctive prototype.
