Cryptic teasers are a popular tactic used by automakers to generate excitement, and Volkswagen is the latest brand to join in. They recently released a teaser hinting at the return of the Rabbit, a beloved model from their lineup.

To build anticipation, Volkswagen took to social media and shared a video featuring a white rabbit. Accompanying the video was a message that expressed their admiration for cats but emphasized the importance of honoring the rabbit.

Today, Volkswagen revealed that they have been working on a special vehicle in their garage. Although they have not provided any specific details yet, a countdown suggests that the mysterious vehicle will be unveiled in six days, on September 3. This is exactly one week after the initial teaser was released, adding to the anticipation.

While Volkswagen has remained tight-lipped about the nature of this special vehicle, there are a few possibilities that come to mind. Spy photographers had previously captured images of a hotter Golf R undergoing testing, featuring unique additions such as canards. Although the company referred to the vehicle as "special" in today's teaser, it is important not to read too much into it. Additionally, Volkswagen has already confirmed the arrival of a GTI 380 package for 2024.

Aside from a special edition, Volkswagen has also been working on a facelifted Golf. Numerous prototypes of the updated model have been spotted with minimal camouflage, showcasing an evolutionary front bumper and slimmer headlights. Inside the cabin, there have been sightings of a larger, free-standing display that could potentially measure 15 inches. Prototypes have also featured a revised steering wheel with physical switchgear.
